Box Score NEW LONDON, Conn. - Tonight, the Coast Guard Men's Soccer team hosted a non-conference game against the UMass Boston Beacons tying 1-1.
At 15:25 into the game, Coast Guard's
Cole Miller made the first point of the game and was assisted by
Charles Fish to give the Bears a 1-0 lead.
Both teams were getting many of shots off in the first half. The Beacons shot eight shots on goal and 13 total shots, while the Bears shot six shots on goal and 12 shots total. The Bears were able to keep the Beacons off the scoreboard completely in the first 45.
In the second, at 50:42 into the game, UMB's Ryan Lima shot a bullet up the pipe, but CGA's
Josh Hudson made the save for the Bears.
At just under eight minutes left in the game, the Beacons were finally able to get one past Bears keeper Hudson. Logan Erickson Potter scored the solo goal for the Beacons to tie it up 1-1.
Bears tried to answer back just a few minutes later,
Miquel Penella would head the ball towards the net. Unfortunately for the Bears, UMB's goalie JJ Devine would get the save.
Neither teams could get one more in the goal and the game would end in a tie 1-1. Hudson had 16 saves for the Bears.
CGA Men's Soccer are on the road this Saturday, October 7th, as they face Clark at 1 PM.
