Box Score NEW LONDON, Conn. - Women's Soccer hosted Wheaton in its final regular season game, tying with the Lyons with a final score of 1-1.
The defense of the Bears kept the Lyons off the board for the entire first 45 minutes. On offense,
Teal Wasson gave CGA the lead when she scored the first goal of the game at the 32 minute mark in the first half.Â
Heading into halftime, Coast Guard was holding on to its 1-0 lead.
In the beginning of the second half, in as little as two and a half minutes, CGA got four good looks, but was unable to connect. The opportunities came again late in the half then there were three shots by the Bears in under two minutes, but the score remained 1-0.
With just over six minutes to go in the game, the Lyons tied it up at one. In a last effort to regain the lead, CGA shot two more times before the clock ran out, but ultimately, the game ended in a draw.
CGA had 14 total shots, 10 on goal.
Emily Scharnitzky recorded four saves for the Bears.
Coast Guard will go onto play in postseason. They are the sixth seed and will play at third seeded Emerson on October 31st at 6 PM.Â
