Bears Soccer Draws with Babson

Box Score NEW LONDON, Conn. - Coast Guard Men's Soccer played Babson in the final New England Women's and Men's (NEWMAC) regular season game of the year, tying with them 1-1.

Bears struck first at 8:59 into the game. A corner kick from Charles Fish was knocked in by Naveen Jayaram to give Coast Guard a 1-0 lead in the first.

Babson took six shots in the first and Coast Guard took three, but the Bears would lead 1-0 going into the second half.

In the second, at 10:02 left to play, a solo goal by Babson's Louis Gazo would tie the score up 1-1. 

Babson took eight shots and Coast Guard took four in the final 45. Neither team was able to get one up on the other in the second half, so the game would end in a 1-1 tie.

Coast Guard's keeper Wolfgang Pfleghar would have four saves for his team. 

The men conclude regular season play ending with a conference record of 2-2-4 and an overall record of 3-5-8.
