WORCESTER, Mass. - This afternoon, Coast Guard Women's Soccer faced off against WPI in a New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) matchup, finishing in a 1-1 tie. 

In the first half, the Engineers out shot the Bears 15 to five. Neither team would score up until 30 minutes into the game. 

Mia Forti would score a solo goal for the Bears (her fourth of the season) giving them the 1-0 lead at 30:35 into the first half. 

Nine minutes later, WPI would tie it up 1-1 from a Maeve Steckley goal assisted by Jess English. 

In the second Bears would take four shots with two on target. Neither team would be able to get it done offensively in second and the game would end in a 1-1 draw. 

Emily Scharnitzky would finish the game with 11 saves at keeper. 

CGA Women's Soccer will be back in action this Wednesday against Smith. Kickoff is scheduled for 4 PM.
