Women's Soccer Drops Game to MIT

Box Score NEW LONDON, Conn. - Women's Soccer hosted MIT in a Wednesday night matchup, falling to the Engineers with a final score of 3-1.

Despite the Bears not scoring in the first half, the defense stepped up. They held the Engineers to just one goal in the first 45 minutes and Emily Scharnitzky recorded five saves.

At the half, CGA was down, 1-0.

Shortly after the start of the second, MIT added to its lead. However, CGA cut it back to just a one goal lead as Mia Forti put the Bears on the board.

In the 66th minute, Coast Guard found itself down by two again when MIT scored its third goal. Ultimately, that would be the final score. 

Scharnitzkky went on to have nine saves for the game. 

Coast Guard will travel to play WPI at 12 PM on October 14th.
