Box Score NEWPORT, RI -- The Coast Guard Academy Men's Soccer team extended their unbeaten streak to four games with a 3-0 win over Salve Regina University tonight in a non-conference weekday match-up.
The Bears used a strong first half, netting three goals, while posting their fourth consecutive shut out to propel them to the win. Coast Guard goalkeepers have yet to allow a single goal on the young season.
First year, Aki Freeman, had himself a stand-out performance, tallying the first goal of the night, before notching an assist on the Bears' second goal of the game. Sophomore Brennan King netted the third goal of the first half, aided by sophomore Miquel Penella.

Wolfgang Pfleghar shut down the Seahawks and earned his second shut out of the season in as many starts.
Coach Parsons had this to say about the Bears victory on the road tonight:
"It was an excellent team performance today against a good Salve team. We scored three first half goals and didn't really allow any chances throughout the course of the game. Our disciplined defending and our ability to work for each other was on display tonight."
The Bears improve to 4-0 on the season with tonight's win, while Salve Regina drops to 2-1-2.
Coast Guard will take the field again at home on Nitchman Field this Saturday, September 17th at 1pm EST for their first New England Men's and Women's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) game of the year against the Engineers of Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
