NEW LONDON, Conn. – Coast Guard exploded for 35 runs on Senior Day and swept Clark 17-3 and 18-5 in a pair of five innings games in New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) play.

Coast Guard has won eight of its last nine to improve to 13-7 overall and 6-2 in the NEWMAC while Clark drops to 4-10 overall and 0-8 in conference play.

Maggie Perez, the only senior on the team, had two hits including a triple and drove in two runs in game two after ripping a double off the fence in the opener to finish the day with three hits.

The Bears are back in action on Saturday when they travel to Babson for a NEWMAC doubleheader at noon.

GAME ONE – COAST GUARD 17, CLARK 3 (5 INNINGS)

Christine Carey was 3 for 3 with two doubles and three runs scored while Kayla Yoshioka Montalvo had three hits including a double and drove in three runs in the game one win.

Coast Guard led 4-0 after one before adding three in the second and seven more in the third. The Bears led 17-0 before Clark scored three in the seventh.

Amanda Moore (8-2) went the distance allowing five hits and three earned runs to get the win. She walked five and fanned six.

Selena Serna also had two hits for the Bears while Mariah Dewey homered to lead off the home half of the first.

GAME TWO – COAST GUARD 18, CLARK 5 (5 INNINGS)

Coast Guard led 6-2 before scoring 12 runs in the fourth to blow the game wide open and complete the sweep.

Julia Breidenthal homered and drove in three runs, Dewey had three hits, scored three runs and drove in pair.

Katie Becker had two doubles and three RBI's while Isabelle Shroyer, Serna and Yoshioka Montalvo all had two hits in the game two win.

Shroyer (5-5) went the distance to get the win in game two.
