Box Score 2 BRISTOL, R.I. – Isabelle Shroyer threw four hit shutout in the opener as Coast Guard won the opener 6-0 and the Bears scored five in the seventh of the nightcap to earn the sweep with a 12-10 win in the Bears first games in 13 days.
Lillia Farlow had huge day at the plate going 7 for 8 with five RBI's and hitting her first career home run while Shroyer had two hits in each game.
Coast Guard is now 3-3 overall while Roger Williams is 2-8 on the season.
The Bears are back in action on Apr. 2nd when they begin conference play and host Smith in a NEWMAC doubleheader at noon.
GAME ONE – COAST GUARD 6, ROGER WILLIAMS 0
Isabelle Shroyer (1-2) fired a four-hitter with one walk and three strikeouts for her first win of the season and she added a pair of hits at the plate in the win.
Lillia Farlow had three hits and drove in two runs while Natalie Beck and Mariah Dewey each had two hits in 14 hit attack as nine players hit safely in the win.
Farlow's RBI single in the second gave the Bears a 1-0 lead. Coast Guard added a run in the third on a RBI double by Dewey for a 2-0 lead.
Selena Serna's two-run double in the fourth increased the lead to 4-0.
Farlow added an RBI single in the fifth and the Bears added another unearned run later in the inning for a 6-0 lead.
GAME TWO – COAST GUARD 12, ROGER WILLIAMS 10
Farlow was 4 for 4 with three RBI's including the game tying single in the seventh as Coast Guard scored five times in the top of the seventh to erase a 10-7 deficit.
Shroyer (2-2) came in relief in the first and went 6 2/3 innings allowing seven hits and four runs, just one earned and struck out three. She also had two more hits at the plate in the win.
The Bears jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the top of the first on an RBI single by Shroyer and an RBI double by Dewey before the Hawks exploded for six runs and a 6-2 lead after one inning.
Christine Carey's sacrifice fly in the second made the score 6-3 before Farlow's first career homer, a solo homer in the fourth, cut the deficit to 6-4.
The Bears trailed 7-4 before tying the game 7-7 with three runs in the fifth. Natalie Beck had a two-run double for the Bears before Farlow's RBI double tied the game.
Roger Williams scored one in the fifth and two more in the sixth for a 10-7 lead.
Dewey and Julia Breidenthal led off the seventh with back-to-back doubles as the Bears made it 10-8. Kayla Yoshioka Montalvo followed with an RBI single to trim the lead to 10-9. Farlow tied the game 10-10 with her fourth hit of the game an RBI single still with nobody out.
The Bears took the lead as Hope Drake Duval bunted in the go ahead run for the 11-10 lead before Carey delivered a sacrifice fly for an insurance run and 12-10 lead.
Dewey had two more hits in the nightcap for the Bears.
