Box Score WORCESTER, Mass.-- Clark University had three different goal scorers on Saturday afternoon as the Cougars defeated Coast Guard 3-1 in New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) action. The Bears drop to 2-9 overall and 0-4 in conference play, while Clark improves to 7-4 on the season and 3-1 in the NEWMAC.
The Cougars jumped to a 2-0 lead in the first half with goals from; Emma Tziachris in the 26th minute and Siobhan Lounsburyin the 31st minute.
In the 54th minute, Imani Salazar found Mia Advocate to put away her second goal of the season, extending the Cougars lead to 3-0.
The Bears cut the deficit, 3-1 in the 75th minute as senior Brielle Pearce connected with sophomore Chase Merrick for her fourth goal of the season.
Clark outshot the Bears 13-6 and had a 5-2 advantage in corner kicks.
Coast Guard junior goalkeeper Sarah Schollenberger made four saves in the first half of play and sophomore Hope Drake-Duval made three saves in the second half. Anabella White made three saves in the victory for Clark.
The Bears are back home on Tuesday, October 12 in NEWMAC action against Smith at 6 PM.
