NEW LONDON, Conn. -- Brittney Righetti scored the only goal of the game on a penalty kick in the 49th minute leading Emerson to a 1-0 win over Coast Guard in a New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) game.

Emerson improves to 5-3 overall and 2-1 in conference play while the Bears suffered their seventh straight loss to drop to 2-8 overall and 0-4 in the NEWMAC. Coast Guard has dropped three straight one goal games and five of the seven losses in the losing streak have been one goal setbacks.

Coast Guard outshot Emerson 15-14.

Amara Schaub (4-2) had eight saves to record her second straight shutout win.

Sarah Schollenberger (0-3) had eight saves and took the loss for Coast Guard.

The Bears are back in action on Saturday at Clark in a NEWMAC game at 11:00.
