Box Score SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. – Sidney Palinkas scored a goal and added an assist, both in the second half, leading Coast Guard to a 4-1 win over Mount Holyoke in a New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) match.
Coast Guard improves to 5-10 overall and 3-6 in the NEWMAC while the Lyons drop to 2-12 overall and 0-9 in conference play.
The Bears will play their final game of the season on Saturday at WPI at noon.
Kelly Wade scored the first goal of her career with 1:25 left in the first half the only scoring in the opening half.
Mount Holyoke pulled even on a goal by Avery Livingston in the 55th minute.
Palinkas scored the eventual game winning goal in the 63rd minute and Alexandra Murphy added an insurance goal for the Bears in the 75th minute.
Anna Carleton added a goal with Palinkas assisting in the 78th minute.
The Bears outshot Mount Holyoke 27-9.
Hope Drake-Duval did not need to make a save in the first half for the Bears while Emily Scharnitzky (2-0) allowed one goal and made four saves in the second half to get the win.
