NEW LONDON, Conn. --  Katie Gademsky fired a four-hit shutout in game two as Babson completed the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) doubleheader sweep over Coast Guard as the Beavers won the opener 6-3 before a 7-0 win in game two to end the Bears season and spoil Senior Day.

Babson improves to 21-13 overall and finishes 14-4 in the NEWMAC while Coast Guard ends the season 18-20 overall and 6-12 in the NEWMAC.

It was the final game for the four Coast Guard seniors, Kelli Franza, Malia Hindle, Mackenzie Everett and Sharayah Simco.

GAME ONE – BABSON 6, COAST GUARD 3

Brooke Stock (10-7) went the distance allowing eight hits and three runs while striking out 12 while

Alex Corrigan had three hits and drove in three runs to lead the Beavers in the opener.

Kayla Schinik also had three hits and scored a pair of runs while Josephine Mares and Ashley Tango each added two hits as Babson had 14 hits in the win.

Babson scored three times in the first as Mares, Schinik and Tango led off the game with consecutive singles. Tango's was an RBI single. Corrigan would added two-run single to make the score 3-0.

The Beavers would add another in the second on an RBI single by Mares to chase Coast Guard starter Julia Ferris.

Babson added two more in the fourth on RBI singles by Isabel Aguilar and Corrigan pushing the lead to 6-0.

The Bears would make some noise in the fourth cutting the deficit in half with RBI singles by Hindle, Franza and Kayla Sowers to make the score 6-3.

Sydney Arendt pitched well in relief for the Bears allowing just two runs over the final 5 2/3 innings. Ferris (10-10) took the loss.

Hattman had two hits for Coast Guard.

GAME TWO – BABSON 7, COAST GUARD 0

Gademsky (10-5) allowed just four singles, did not walk a batter and fanned four to get the win.

The Beavers got all they would need in the third on a two-run single by Jaqueline Paul for a 2-0 lead.

Tango would hit a long two-run homer to left in the fifth to push the lead to 4-0 and Babson would add three more in the sixth on an RBI single by Annie Mitchell, a sacrifice fly by Schinik and the Beavers added another run when a runner was thrown out at third later in the inning to close the scoring.

Tango, Paul, Corrigan and Aguilar each had two hits in the game two win.

Sowers had a pair of hits for the Bears.

Arendt (8-10) started and allowed four runs in 4 1/3 innings to take the loss.
