Box Score NORTHAMPTON, Mass. – Sophomore Felicia Lombardi scored the only goal of the game in the 69th minute leading Coast Guard to its third straight win a 1-0 win over Smith in a New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) game.
Coast Guard tied a school-record by pushing its unbeaten streak to four straight and improves to 7-4-1 overall 4-1-1 in the NEWMAC.
The four NEWMAC wins ties the record for most conference wins in a season which was accomplished three other times including last season. Smith drops to 6-9-1 overall and 1-6 in conference play.
The Bears won four straight in the 2003 and started the 2016 season 3-0-1, the only two other four game unbeaten streaks in program history.
Freshman Katharina Commins (7-4-1) made seven saves to register her third shutout of the season.
Coast Guard held a 19-12 advantage in shots.
The Bears are back in action on Saturday when they travel to MIT in a NEWMAC game set for 1:00.
