Bears Drop Road Game at Emerson

BOSTON, Mass. – Emerson scored three first half goals en route to a 4-1 win over Coast Guard in a New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) game.

The Bears drop to 7-6-1 overall and 4-3-1 in the NEWMAC while Emerson improves to 8-5-2 overall and 4-2-1 in the conference.

The Lions scored in the 13th, 28th and 32nd minute of the first half to lead 3-0 at the break.

Emerson would add a fourth goal in the 58th minute before the Bears only goal of the game by sophomore Felicia Lombardi, an unassisted goal in the 64th minute closed the scoring.

The Bears outshot Emerson 16-14, but the two Lions goalies combined to make nine saves in the win.

Freshman Katharina Commins (7-6-1) made four saves and allowed four goals while classmate Emily Rivera made a pair of saves over the final 23:24 for Coast Guard.

Coast Guard is back in action on Saturday when the Bears host Clark in the final regular season home game of the season at 1:00.
