Box Score WORCESTER, Mass –Senior Gabrielle Auzenbergs scored in the 80th minute and junior Rachel Boohar collected four saves in a 1-0 win at host WPI in a NEWMAC women's soccer match Saturday.
With the win, the Bears improve to 4-3 on the season and 1-1 in conference play as the Engineers dip to 5-4 and 0-2.
A total of nine shots on-goal were saved before Auzenbergs deposited a long cross, from freshman Kat Retz, which bounced over the keeper at 79:41.
In addition to Boohar's stops, Coast Guard was credited with a team save. For WPI, junior Gabriela Hoops halted four of the five shots aimed at the net.
Auzenbergs, along with WPI sophomore Kristen McCrea and senior Sophie Gomarlo, tallied a pair of shots on-goal. The Engineers enjoyed an overall shot margin of 13-8 while the Bears were awarded four of the contests seven corner kicks – all in the second half.
