Cougars Slip By Bears in NEWMAC Action

WORCESTER, Mass. – Freshman Inonge Kaloustian scored a goal in each half as Clark topped Coast Guard 2-0 in New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) action Friday evening.

With the loss, the Bears fall to 8-8 overall and 4-5 in conference play. The Cougars improve to 7-6-2 on the season and 2-4-2 in the NEWMAC.

Kaloustian two goals on the night tied her for the team lead with four goals on the year. Freshman Sarah Berube and sophomore Bailey Glenn both had assists.

Clark's first goal came late in the second half as Kaloustian took a pass from Berube and fired it home for the 1-0 in the 43rd minute.

Kaloustian then finished off the scoring in the 70th minute as Glenn found her with a pass at the top of the Coast Guard penalty box. Kaloustian settled the service and put it in the back of the net for the 2-0 win.

Junior goalkeeper Rachel Boohar (8-8) made four saves on six shots on goal allowing two goals.

Sophomore Julianna Christy (3-5-2) made 11 saves on her 11 shots on goal for her second shutout of the season.

Coast Guard is back in action Wednesday, October 25th when they host Albertus Magnus in their final non-conference game of the season. Opening kickoff is 7:00.
