Bears Settle for Tie With Mass. Maritime

BUZZARDS BAY, Mass. --  Mass. Maritime sophomore Adam Crawford's goal with 2:15 remaining in regulation tied the game as Coast Guard played to a 1-1 non-league double overtime tie.

Crawford's header from in front of the net off of senior Mick Rouette's direct kick provided the equalizer for the host Buccaneers (5-8-2), who extended their unbeaten streak to four straight with the draw. 

The visiting Bears (8-4-2) had taken a 1-0 advantage in the 60th minute of play when sophomore Brock Hassett scored from 20 yards out on the left side of the net.

Senior Mike Pruchnik matched his season-high with 13 saves for, including eight first half stops and two more in the second extra session, for the Buccaneers, while sophomore Dakota Harich made a career-high eight saves in the tie for the Bears. Harich is now 3-1-1 on the season.

Coast Guard outshot Massachusetts Maritime by a 22-17 margin overall (14-9 on goal), but the Buccaneers held a 7-5 edge in corner kicks for the contest.

The Bears are back in action on Saturday when they host MIT in a NEWMAC game at noon.
