Box Score BOSTON, Mass. - Coast Guard came back to tie the game at one, but fell in over time falling to Emerson 2-1 in New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) action.
With the loss the Bears fall to 6-9 overall and 2-6 in conference action. With the win the Lions improve to 10-5-1 overall and 2-5-1 in NEWMAC play.
Freshman Jess Frost struck first for Emerson as she received a pass from fifth year senior Alexandra Dezenzo to score her eighth goal of the season in the 42nd minute of the first half.
Coast Guard battled back in the second half and finally tied the game when junior Brianna Grisell scored her first goal of the season in the 71st minute.
Regulation ended knotted at one and it took all the way to the second over time for the game winner to be found. In the 106th minute Dezenzo scored her 12th goal of the season giving Emerson the 2-1 victory.
Freshman goalkeeper Rachel Boohar (5-9) made a career high 17 saves on 31 shots faced, 19 on goal. Boohar is fourth in the NEWMAC with 87 saves on the season.
Junior goalkeeper Melanie Escobar (7-5-1) made six saves on 12 shots, seven on goal.
Coast Guard returns to action on Tuesday, October 24th when they take on Wellesley in NEWMAC action. Kickoff is 3:30.
