Cadet Memorial Field

The Academy's football field is situated immediately north of Billard Hall. The construction of the venue's press box was funded by Roger Walther '58; the 1963 football team; and the Otto Graham Athletic Legacy Fund, and was dedicated in 2009. A state-of-the-art turf system was installed in 2014, made possible with donations from the class of 2009. Featuring a grandstand bleacher along the home sideline and a video scoreboard in the south end zone, the field is also home to the CGA men's and women's lacrosse teams.

Cadet Memorial Field was originally known as Jones Field in honor of Henry L. Jones '29, the first Coast Guard Academy cadet to perish in the line of duty after he was swept overboard during a training exercise at sea in 1927. The venue was renamed to its current moniker to honor all cadets who have lost their lives while at the Academy. Along the southern field entrance across from Billard Hall is a small memorial inscribed with the mantra "To God I resign my spirit, my life to my country" along with the names of every cadet to fall in the line of duty.
