United States Coast Guard Academy

For their collective performance this past weekend at the annual Head of the Charles Regatta, the Coast Guard Academy women's rowing team has been named the CoastGuardAthletics.com Athletes of the Week, presented by First Command.

The V8 crew rowed to a sixth-place finish in the in Sunday's women's collegiate 8 event, finishing with a time of 17:36.2 and beating out conference rivals Wellesley College by 1.5 seconds to be the highest-placing NEWMAC team at the event. Coast Guard's second V8 also competed in the event and finished 24th overall at 18:37.6. On Sunday, the third V8 crew competed in the women's club 8 event, competing against several Division I and club programs; the team finished 35th in the event after rowing a 19.:17.5.
