Jordon Smith

Jordon Smith is in his sixth year as head tennis coach at the Coast Guard Academy.

Last year, he led the Bears to the program's first ever NEWMAC regular season championship and he was named the NEWMAC Coach of the Year in each of the last two seasons. He has led Coast Guard to back-to-back NEWMAC tournament championship matches. He has a record of 35-22 in five seasons at the academy including 13-3 last season including a perfect 6-0 in NEWMAC regular season play. 

Smith spent two and a half years as an assistant coach for both the men's and women's tennis teams at Ithaca College. The men's team was 13-6 overall and 7-1 in conference play last season and were back-to-back Empire 8 runners up. The Bombers were ranked as high as 19th in the Northeast region in each of the last two seasons. The women's team was a perfect 8-0 in each of the last two seasons winning back-to-back Empire 8 championships.

Prior to Ithaca, Smith was the assistant men's and women's coach at Wheaton (Mass.). Smith worked at the Ocean Edge Resort and Golf Club in Brewster, Mass. for five years (2011-2016) as an assistant tennis professional and at the Binghamton Tennis Center from 2006-11.

He earned his bachelor's degree in cinema from Binghamton in 2014 and played one season for the Division I Bearcats. He also played two years at Broome Community College and went undefeated at first singles and doubles in 2010. During that year, he reached the semifinals of the NJCAA Tournament in singles and doubles.
