Biography

Why did you choose the Coast Guard Academy?

I wanted to be a pilot in the armed forces. I liked the Coast Guard’s humanitarian aspect. The fact that the Academy is so small ended up being a great fit for me.

How long have you been sailing? Did you play any other sports in high school?

I started sailing when I came to the Academy. I played golf, basketball, and ran track in high school. I fell in love with sailing during the summer. The offshore team appealed to me because I liked bigger boats more than the dinghies.

What do you look forward to the most this upcoming sports season at Coast Guard?

I look forward to competing in the Kennedy Cup and also to seeing the new 4/C grow into awesome sailors.

What are you future sailing plans? Career goals?

I want to be a future boat owner that competes regularly. I also want to sail at least one Bermuda race and compete in the World’s in a J/70 or Melges 32.
